Determination of Membrane Bioreactor Efficiency in Treatment of Composting Plant Leachate
Leachatecontaining high levels of organic pollution with ammonia، halogenatedhydrocarbons، heavy metals and inorganic salts. Among the various methods fortreating leachate، has been developed membrane processes so that a morebiological process of membrane processes is used for separation of solid -liquid. The aimof this study was to evaluate the efficiency of Membrane bioreactor efficiencyin treatment of composting plant leachate.
This study is a cross-sectional study was carried outat a laboratory scale. In this study، SBR used with 5 litercombined with hollow fiber membrane reactor about 50% porosity and operational pressureMPa 0. 02. 150 samples were analyzed andaverage concentration of COD، ammonia، phosphorus and TSS was measured in inletleachate and bioreactor effluent. Finally removal efficiency was determined.
Bioreactor efficiency removal for COD، BOD5،TSS، ammonia and phosphorus، respectively were approximately 99. 2، 99، 89. 2،87and 98٪. The paired t test، showed astatistically significant difference between the input leachate and bioreactoreffluent (p-value <0. 05). based on one-sample t test، there aresignificantly different between values of the bioreactor effluent quality and standardsvalues (p-value <0. 05).
Raw leachate pretreatment processes such as microscreening، chemical precipitation، and ammonia stripping، anaerobic reactorswould be very effective in bioreactor performance.
