Investigation of Modeling Effectiveness of Stress Due to Teenagers Mature in Families, According to ABCX-X Model

Modeling the effects of stressors on the family is one of the problems that clinicians are faced. ABCX-X model has been produced by Boss in 2002 and it’s one of the most capable models in this field. This study is an experimental study that on 1391 was conducted on a group of teenage parents. We used behavioral assessment. Number of “Conflict between parents and adolescents in a week” that has been reported by parents is the base of this study. For this purpose parents reported number of their conflict with adolescents before, during and after treatment to therapist. We used simple non-random sampling method in this project. Adolescent sexual maturity is a stressor that can affect families. Stress on families has been modeling according to ABCX-X model and so an initial screening is performed. Then those families who had only some stressors which are related to adolescent sexual maturity, received “Group therapy”. This program presented in 8 sessions of 60 minutes. The results indicate 50% reduction in reported conflicts between parent and teen's parents. Due to using ABCX-X model in two parts screening and modeling stressors in sexual maturity and adulthood and according to reduction of conflicts, we can says this modeling is a determinant factor.
