The Effects of Stepwise Dialysis Solution Flow Rate Profile onDialysis Adequacy: A Clinical Trial

Inadequacy of dialysisincreasesthecomplicationsofend-stagerenaldisease, duration of hospitalization and costs imposed. The methods enhancing the adequacy of dialysis in these patients are high effective in prognoses and it is importantin the managementofthesepatients. In view oftheincreasingofadequacyisthegoal of nursing, thisstudy was toevaluate the effectofStepwise Dialysis Solution Profile ondialysis adequacy. The present study is a cross over design in which 28 patients from two hemodialysis centers in Isfahan. All patients underwent hemodialysis sessions as follows: 4 routine and 4 Stepwise Dialysis Solution Profile and in each session the KT/V was measured by the measuring equipment in the online manner. The results were analyzed by paired&in depended T test. the mean values of dialysis adequacy were as follows: 1.237 in routine and 1.385 in Stepwise Dialysis Solution Profile methods that there was a statistical difference between routine method with profile (p=0.001). Using Stepwise Dialysis Solution Profile with releasedmoreureacomparing to routine profile will result in improving the quality of dialysis. Thus using these methods are recommended.
