in Underwater Acoustic Wireless Networks (UAWNs)، localization is one of most important technologies since it plays a critical role in many underwater applications such as exact location of the occurrence of an event such as a tsunami، assistance to the submarine fleet and etc. In this paper، a comprehensive survey of localization techniques for underwater networks had presented. First localization techniques had divided into two categories: distributed and centralized. And then in each category، localization techniques had surveyed in two subcategories: rang-based and rang-free schemes and their advantages and disadvantages had studied.
