Translation of Cultural Elements from Persian into French: Analyzing the Translation of Cultural Elements in " Guest of Mom" by Houshang Moradi Kermani

In this article، we have intended to analyze the translation of cultural elements from Persian into French by relying on a corpus that addresses directly the Iranian culture: “Guest of Mom”، by Houshang Moradi Kermani، translated by Maribel Bahia. We have chosen this corpus because we could find a lot of instances of humanitarian love and gentleness as reflected in the portrayal of Iranian characters. We believe the author has been very successful in illustrating such concepts. Two key questions arise: Can we translate cultural signs and connotative senses? If so، how? In fact، our goal has been to demonstrate whether we can translate the culture of a society or not? For this purpose، we have relied on the theory of Semantic Points of View، a new theory already applied to linguistic studies، which may also be used for the study of translation
