Applications of Geomorphologic Studies in Security and Discipline Sustainability in Border Areas, Emphasizing on Southern Khorasan borders

One of the main concepts in achieving environmental sustainability in different geographical regions in the domain of environment management, specially in border areas, with defensive approach is ease of traffic, camouflage, crisis management etc.. In the meantime, recognizing and dominating on geomorphologic qualifications and limitations of an area and taking special military politics in critical moments will play an important role in security and discipline sustainability of that area. Citing geomorphological and geographical information resources based on library method, samples of applying geomorphologic studies in different military- security issues of border areas specially Southern Khorasan borders have been studied. Some of the applications of these types of studies are as follows: The applications of morphologic areas once camouflaging, geomorphologic limitations once making military equipment and their transportation such as water-land panzer and it's application, efficient planning in accordance with the geomorphic terms in the ease of movement of troops and equipment, taking defensive or aggressive management policies in relation to the geomorphology of the border and finally, the necessity of considering geomorphologic map's applications in defense logistics and military management. As a case study, in this paper, morphological characteristics of South Khorasan province with a military-security approach and in terms of military geomorphology applications are briefly discussed. Due to having semi-high and longitudinal lands and flat plains, this region has a numerous qualifications and limitations for operations, military maneuvers and ultimately, military-security sustainability. Obviously, from point of view of territorial levels, developing and operating these concepts will lead to security and discipline in this region.
