Investigating the rate of self-referred addict's socialization in Birjand

Abstract:
Introduction
Addiction to drugs as a kind of social stigma, is a phenomenon called existence threatening disaster. Present study aims to determine rate of self-referred addicts’ socialisation.
Methodology
This is a descriptive research. Sixty self-referred addicts in Birjand rehabilitation centres have been chose by availability sampling. There were a socialization questionnaire containing 31 items that has been used following to verifying it’s reliability and validity. To analyze data, SPSS software and one-sample t test have been applied.
Findings
percentage of male and female self-referred addict were 82.8 and 17.2, respectively, in which 26.8 % were single and 73.2 % were married. Results show that level of significance of social frame, skills, unwillingness, relationships and socialization among addicts were lower than average and the obtained t were also smaller that critical value. Therefore, one can conclude that addicts face with lot of problems in the above factors.
Conclusion
It is expected that by considering the research results, necessary interference and planning have been done to improve addicts’ socialization.
