Investigating the effect of communications on knowledge-sharing; a case study

Today, knowledge sharing is of great importance because of creating competitive advantage, innovation, increased productivity, reduced costs and so on. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different communication factors on the knowledge-sharing in several levels including individual, institutional and technological on the knowledge-sharing. This research is applied and descriptive which is conducted via survey method. Research population was Lorestan University's faculty and staff. Stratified random sampling technique was used to determine sample and questionnaire was used for data collection. Data analysis was conducted through SPSS software. The result of analysis of data indicated that three communication dimensions including communication satisfaction, communication style and communication technology had a significant effect on the knowledge- sharing. In this study, it was found that people more tended to provide knowledge than gain and collect it. Communication satisfaction had the greatest effect on the knowledge sharing; therefore, the results also showed that communication technology situation wasn’t desirable in Lorestan University. Finally, recommendations are provided for authorities and university managers.
