Measurement and Analysis of the Miyaneh Township Rural Cooperatives Productiviy Using Data Envelopment Approach

In the present study the productivity of 26 rural cooperatives in Miyaneh Township were analyzed and measured by the use of Malmquist index and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), with Input oriented approach and Constant returns to scale. Various information were gathered such as number of villages in each subsidiary company, companies distance to the villages, the age of members, the amount of capital available and the costs portfolio. These data were analyzed by the use of Deap2 and Spss19 software.The results showed there was high productivity among specific companies, due to their pretty high scale efficiency (High number of village's subsidiary). Analysis of data also indicated that the number of village's subsidiary, distant villages and the number of members in each cooperative had a significant role in their productivity level. The average productivity of cooperatives, assuming constant returns to scale in year was close to 0.745. In other words, these companies decreased 26.5 percent in the use of inputs to achieve maximum productivity. Average efficiency was about0.450 level.
