In this study we tend to measure gingival indices in mothers with early abortion comparing with who gives birth to healthy neonate.

Data were analyzed by SPSS software version 11. 5 and Chi square، Independent t test and Mann-whitney tests. P value less than 0. 05 was considered significant.
Mean AL (P=0. 138)، mean PD (P=0. 232) and Gingival index (P=0. 071) was not different in case and control groups. But The amount of bleeding on probing was significantly more in cases than controls (P=0. 045).
Periodontal disease can''t be a risk factor for early abortion.
