Investigation of Factor Structure of Sources of Sport Self- confidence Questionnaire among Female and Male University Athletes in Group and Individual Sports

The present study was carried out in order to investigate the factor structure of sources of sport self-confidence questionnaire among female and male university athletes in group and individual sports. The present study method was descriptive survey and developmental research. Statistical population included all athletes that participated in sport Olympiad in 2012. In this research، 230 sources of sport self-confidence questionnaires (Vealy et al.) were distributed among them. Finally، 190 questionnaires were confirmed. Data were analyzed with exploratory factor analysis، principle component analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Results showed that this questionnaire is formed of 9 factors with 41 items and it is explaining 74. 8% variance among university athletes. Also، investigation of confirmatory factor analysis parameters showed that sources of sport self-confidence questionnaire model with 9 factor and confirmed by goodness of fit indices. It was shown that sources of sport self-confidence questionnaire has acceptable and fit factor structure among university athletes، that every 9 factors were consistent with factors of original questionnaire.
