A Comparative Study of the Concept of Night in the Poetry of Abdul Wahhab al-Bayati and Mehdi Akhavan Saleth

Abdul Wahhab al-Bayati and Mehdi Akhavan Saleth are two famous contemporary poets of the Arab and Persia respectively. They have pictured their thoughts and ideas in the form of words. Among these words ‘night’ embodies varies meanings in the poetry of the mentioned poets. Due to the relatively similar experiences in life, Bayati and Akhavan have almost identical perspective to this phenomenon, although there are some differences to consider, the main focus of this paper is the conceptual similarities of this term. It can said that the two poets have gone beyond this term ‘night’ and have employed it in a symbolic way; ‘night’ is their way of relating their inner and social situations. In other words, the poetry of the two poets is allotted to the description of political and social situation. This paper employs a descriptive-analytical method and it is covered in the framework of a comparative American School.
