Comparison of the effectiveness religious therapy and existential therapy in improvement of Suicide tendency among counseling centered clients of Kurdistan University

This study was aimed to compare of the effectiveness religious therapy and existential therapy in improvement of Suicide tendency among counseling centered clients of Kurdistan University. Thirty six students out of all referring to counseling Center in the Kurdistan University of Sanandaj were selected by resorting to random sampling method. Students were completed Beck Scale for Suicide ideation (1979) & diagnosed based on DSM- IV- R interview. Participants were randomly assigned into three groups (12 people in each Group). Therefore، three groups were organized as religious therapy and existential therapy and control groups. The Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation scale was employed both before and after interventions. The results showed that therapy based on religious therapy and existential therapy in affecting on reduction and improvement of Suicide tendency of students، Also therapy based on religious therapy was similar to existential therapy in improvement of Suicide tendency.
