Introduction of Some Shia Hadith Books Published in the Indian Subcontinent

After the invention of the printing press, the Indian subcontinent has particularly been one of the most important centers publishing written works in Asia. Its published works had an effect on its adjacent regions, especially on Iran. An important part of these published books is concerned with Shia Imami works. Among them that of Hadith and Shia Hadith sciences are of important status. The status of these works and their quantity and quality, as it should be, has not so far been evaluated and considered. The author of the present paper briefly gives an account of sixteen published books of the Shia Hadith in the Indian subcontinent, along with their specifications. The author looked into these books one by one and elicited the data. Considering the titles and dates of publication of these books, one can find the role of the subcontinent in the development of Shia culture and sciences, yet other Shi`a books published in this area are needed to be investigated.
