Relationship of personality disorders with suicidal-tendencies in a group of military soldiers

the aim of study is to research the Relationship of personality disorders with suicidal-tendencies in a group of military soldiers. The subjects of this research are، 310 soldiers in Isfahan city in a military center were selected through multiphase cluster method; and they completed the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory (MCMI_II) & Beck Suicide Scale Ideation (BSSI). Data was analyzed through descriptive statistical tests، Pierson coefficient of correlation and multivariable regression. The correlation results have been showed that there is a significant relationship among anti-social (r=0. 60)، paranoid (r=0. 60)، narcissist (0. 44)، borderline (0. 69)، avoidance (r=0. 50)، schizotypal (r=0. 25)، masochist (r=0. 44)، Negativistic (r=0. 65) personality disorders with suicidal-tendencies. Results of multivariable regression showed that variance of 0. 74 related to suicidal-tendencies have been predicted by personality disorders. this research showed that personality disorders symptom can predict for suicide and suicidal-thinking.
