Situation of Graduate Employment in the Field of Psychology in Iran and Canada: University of Tehran and University of Alberta

This research reviewed graduate employment in the course of Psychology in the form of mixed method and qualitative method at university of Tehran and university of Alberta as largest universities of Iran and Canada. Statistical society in study one was graduates of department of psychology in faculty of psychology and education at university of Tehran. Results in study one indicated percentage of employment in 2001 was approximately three times in 2008، while number of graduates was the most in 2008. Percent of unemployment، job fitness، and obligation for continuing more education was satisfaction. Duration of unemployment was 1-3 years. Annual salary was 4-6 thousand $ and Networks were the main strategy for job search. Statistical society in study two was graduates of department of psychology at university of Alberta. Results in study two indicated job fitness is not satisfied. Findings clarified willingness to private sector and continued for more education. Duration of unemployment was 2 years. Job prospectus of graduates was almost excellent. Annual salary was 70-80 thousand $. Networks were the main strategy for job search. Part time and volunteering work was important factors for employment.
