The relationship between preschool principal's technical skills and the educators participation in pedagogic issues

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the preschool principal’s technical skills and the educators participation in pedagogic issues. A correlation research method was used. The statistical population includes all 206 teachers and 37 managers of preschools which are ruled under the authority of the Ministry of education and Welfare Organization. Using census method all 37 managers and using multi-stage cluster method about 300 educators were selected as study sample. The data gathering instrument were two researcher made principal technical skills and educators participation questionnaire. The Alpha coefficient was estimated to be./90 for principal′s questionnaires and. /80 for educators. The collected data, were analyzed using multivariate regression and pearson correlation coefficient. Results showed that most of the principals in preschools (nursery schools and kindergarten) possess a technical skill level higher than the average (3/95). Also the level of educators participation in pedagogic decision making was predictable based on principals′ technical skills and there was a significant relationship between the principals′ technical skills and each one of the components of educator's participation (P≤0/01).
