The Meanings of Khouf and Reja e in Quran and their interpretations in Masnavi of Molavi

Message:
Abstract:
From an epistemological perspective and in a terminological system the concepts of Khouf (fear) and Reja’e (hope) in Quran have special places in mystical works especially Masnavi-e Manavi. Therefore this article has tried first to analyze the concepts of these two words in Holy Quran and then to examine the mystical interpretations of them in Moulavi’s view and thought. Through this way the conceptual and historical course of these two concepts in the ideas and words of Sufis and mystics until the age of Moulana is also investigated briefly. The results of research indicate that Moulana have looked upon these two supplementary concepts based on the holy Quran and religious teachings, Hadiths, and accounts and in explaining the concept and truth of Khouf and Reja’e he was influenced by the universality of the ideas of love drunken mystics and has applied his own idea and way of thinking. Moulana by integrating Reja’e and love prefers Reja’e over Khouf so that the dominant idea in Masnavi, that is love and reunion, would also be crystallized in its components.
