Recognizing obstacles of knowledge management implementation in Imam Ali Military University, a mixed method design

Investigation of the current situation of any organizations in structure, technology, culture and human resource Management (HRM) is the starting point to knowledge-orientation. This study aims to recognize KM implementation obstacles in Imam Ali Military University. In this exploratory mix method research, 10 senior officers as participants were interviewed to recognize KM obstacles. Data gathered through reliable (r=0.95) and valid questionnaire which its main variables were taken from interview via content analyze technique. Based on the result of exploratory factor analysis, ten factors were recognized as KM obstacles: Strategic approach, human resources, information technology, infrastructure for KM, the laws of Technology, knowledge worker, bureaucracy, internet web, organizational culture and formalization. In order to investigate the relationship between defined obstacles with KM cycles, Pearson test was conducted. There is a significant relationship between all elements and KM cycle, except bureaucracy and formalization elements. So, improving the obstacles lead to promoting Km cycle in Imam Ali Military University. Suggestion and implication have been expressed at the end of the articles.
