The Comparison of Predisposition Factors on Request Divorce on Gender

This survey studied the divorce creating factors in divorce applicants in Tehran Family courts (Shahid Mahalati-Vanak) during 2006-2007. The participants were 300 divorce applicants who were referred from family courts. This study was done as a descriptive cross-sectional. Through a structured interview cause of divorce was gathered in the economical، psychological، socio-cultural، sexual، medical، addiction، violence and remarriage cause. Findings were shown as frequency and percent and compared between male and female group via chi square test. The results showed that the important factors of divorce request were including in order of disagreement and psychological needing in safeguarding in both of couples (84/4% of females and 90% of males). Although in women''s group the important factors of divorce request were economic factors، violence and jealousy and addiction of husband. In men''s group were also socio-cultural factors. The results of this survey suggested That to apply the necessary programming in teaching and counseling before the marriage as well as the necessity of informing the couple in receiving professional consults in time of problem incidence and proceeding for divorce in order to prevent from divorce incidence.
