The Identification of Suitable Lands for Economic Investment Projects in District Three of Mashhad Municipality

Unsuccessful experiences of two major exhibitions with more than 300 investment projects in Mashhad organized with municipalities in 2010 and 2011 and weak implementation of 20 projects, propose the use appropriate methods to identify themes and patterns for components investment projects. This study aims to determine the priorities for investment in the District Three of Mashhad Municipality. Method in this research is descriptive - analytical and required data collected by documents and field work. In regard to geo-referenced databases on multiple layers and composition of the layers was developed to assist the multi-criteria decision making and with the help of multi-criteria decision making method AHP in ARCGIS software and the five major indices. The indices of the elements are urban tourism, Area of segments, land uses, ownerships and distance from metro stations and 15 sub criteria. From 972 blocks, 66 of them with 187 hectares area are suitable for investment in the region.
