What is modesty: a comparative study on viewpoint's of Muslim and western ethicists.

Modesty is one the most effective virtue in individual and social life that have been paid attention to by Muslim and western ethicists. Misunderstanding of this virtue may make some problems and the moral agent will be afflicted with inferiority or megalomania. So, moral philosophers have put subjects about nature, realm, depth, and it's degrees. After reporting and analyzing viewpoint's Muslim ethicists and enjoying from western's moral philosopher's conceptual frames, authors have studied the concept of modesty. Muslim definition of modesty is belief-based, knowledge-based, non-overestimated and negative. Two problems in some definitions of modesty are (a) confusion between context of definition and context of existence, (b) ignorance of the depth of modesty.
