The Evaluation of Rhymed Prose (Saj) Entry from the " Encyclopedia of the Quran" Leiden

The saj entry is written by one of the orientalists Devin J. Stewart that it has been published in the “Encyclopedia of the Quran” Leiden. This paper has tried to criticize and evaluate the mentioned entry with aiming to make clear the thought atmosphere of non-Muslim scholars by examining the writings of orientalists specifically in religious teachings especially in the Quranic subjects. Criticism and evaluation of the mentioned writings makes the public opinions be familiar with the pure Islam. In analysis and assessment of the saj entry, some of challenges relate to the basis of the writer’s thoughts which considers the Quranic saj as priests’ saj and the same-supposition of the noble Quran and poems. The other part is to present some instances from the noble Quran as the author claims for considering saj it is deviated from the current literature style. Meanwhile criticizing and evaluating the mentioned subjects, it is proved the instability of the writer’s opinion and it has been revealed the incorrectness of the clarified cases as samples of the deviation of the literature style in a form of contradiction and solution.
