The Relationship between Time Management and Job Stress among Women Managers and Employees in I.R.I Police

Background and job-related stress is one type of stress that if it is too much, it may cause physical, mental and behavioral side effects and endanger the individuals’ health, threaten the organizational objectives and then lead to the reduction of performance quality. One of the most effective ways to reduce the stress is time management. Therefore, the present study was carried out aiming at investigating the relationship between time management skill and job-related stress among women managers and personnel in I.R.I Police. the present research is a descriptive-correlational study. To this end, 40 out of 50 women managers and employees in Tehran I.R.I Police were selected using stratified sampling method (12 managers and 28 employees). They answered all items of the time management and job-related stress questionnaires.Analysis of the univariate and multivariate regression showed that there is a significant negative relationship between time management and job stress among women managers and it could predict the relationship. Also, among the dimensions of time management, prioritization of objectives and activities, delegating and managing meetings had a significant negative relationship with job stress among women managers and they could predict the relationship; but there was not any significant relationship between time management and job stress among women employees (p<.05). regarding the improvement of employees’ mental health level in stressful jobs and promoting their performance for reducing stress among police women employees, the need for training and time management skills seem to be essential.
