Assessment of Nomad's Awareness of Passive Defence and its Effect on Border Security (Case Study: Nomadic Society of Qasr-e-Shirin District, Kermanshah Province)

In present era, one of the defence mechanisms for border security is using passive defence and its principles; a matter that can be discussed in human functionality. In passive defence, all organizations and forces and even common people can play an effective role. The nomadic society of our country which comprises one of the three main communities (urban, rural and nomadic) has unique characteristics in terms of the important factor of human situation of nomadic society due to its social structure and constituting elements of personal and social characteristics. They have always been ready to defend from religion, nation and country thorough all political and social periods. Passive defence can increase not only this group’s capabilities but also their security and awareness. This research was performed aimed at recognizing the awareness of passive defence and its relation with border security in nomads in the region under study. The analytical-descriptive method was used. For an attentive study in addition to documented study, quantitative (survey and SPSS) and qualitative (interview) methods were used. Based on results of this research, it is observed that today the threats of enemy on diminishing the tolerance threshold of people and national stability have become complex. In this regard, the main solution is providing awareness against the strategies and techniques of enemies. Thus, in order to defeat their serious threats, the awareness of people especially the nomadic society who possess special features in humane, geographical, cultural, social and political dimensions should be increased.
