Social capital and its relation with the rate of implementation of knowledge management in I.R.I Police

Social capital leads to development of knowledge management in the organization via facilitating the combination and exchange of knowledge resources and as well as providing the required conditions especially trust and interaction among members. Hence, the investigation of the relation between social capital and the rate of knowledge management has been considered in this research. Police Department headquarters and specialized staff of the police chief in Mazandaran province were the statistical population of this survey that 102 people have been selected as statistical sample by the Cochran's sampling formula. This research was from the applied type and has been preceded by menstruation approach. The data collection tool was two questionnaires. The first questionnaire was measuring of social capital that has been designed based on “Nahapiet and Ghoshal” (1998), and divides it into three dimensions. The second questionnaire has been designed by the researcher and was used for investigating the rate of implementation of knowledge management of the police chief of the Mazandaran province. The results of the survey showed that there is a significant positive correlation between social capital and the rate of implementation of knowledge management. Among aspects of the knowledge management, the knowledge production and presentation of it have the highest and lowest correlation with the social capital, respectively.
