The Status of

Abstract:
Nothing is considered as necessary as "health science demands" in Islam. "Health" is considered both as the perfection and a prelude to achieving the other perfections; "being Heavenly" and move towards "salvation" are not possible except for "healthy" people. On the other hand, moving in the opposite direction of health would lead to human fall and the great talents corruption in the human body. Given this importance and necessity, the present paper, citing Quranic verses and strong sayings of the Shiite and employing descriptive and content analysis methods, seeks to explain the concept of health status in Islam, and also explain one of the most important divisions of health, i.e., "the spiritual health "and the ways to obtain it.Some of the findings of this study show that: 1) Having physical health is not necessarily equal to being a healthy human, in other words the lack of physical health and even having a disability does not mean not having health. 2) Due to the dominance of spiritual dimension of man over the physical dimension, the spiritual health has a significant impact on human physical health. 3) Spiritual health – which is the man's inner and spiritual health – requires the spiritual moves towards perfection and balance in all aspects of human relationships. 4) Heart and mind health and their proper engagement play a vital role in people's reaching to "spiritual health". 5) Heart health would lead to open "the eyes of the heart" and a "vigilance" in human. 6) The vision of the "heart's eyes" – which is the attribute of healthy hearts – leads to "viewing God" and understanding "Jannat Alleqa". 7) Unhealthy and dirty heart does not have any functions of healthy heart. Heart diseases are the products of contaminations such as blasphemy and idolatry and sin. 8) "Unreasoning" is one of the diseases of man's inner and spiritual dimensions. Lack of wisdom development, which leads to the failure of recognizing and distinguishing between rights and wrong, would place man in benighted and thus going to extremes.
