The Representation of gender stereotypes in the children's series (Kolahghermezi)

Media are full of gender stereotypes and TV also one of the media that represents and reproduction this stereotypes. Gender stereotypes are sometimes thought of as a solid foundation and rigid for the group attributable to it’s inherent characteristics. Stereotypes are reproducted through social institutions such as family, peer group, educational system and the media. Explore and extract them from Iranian culture is important issue in its place. KOLAH GHERMEZI as one of children’s television generes has an important role in stereotyping. This study intends to use the content analysis method for fifteen part of two seasons. The findings show that representing of KOLLAH GHERMEZI similar in other genres such as social TV series and commercials and effects certain features of disability, lower social status and dominance of patriarchal discourse for women and develop gender division. This representation plays a crucial role in the education of children and their socialization.
