Status of information literacy among normal and smart school teachers in Kashan

Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose of this research was to study the status of information literacy among normal and smart school teachers.
Methodology
Research type was descriptive survey. The statistical population consisted of 511 teachers of Kashan city, out of which 112 were chosen. The information gathering tools was a questionnaire with 35 items on the base of 5 Likert scales.The questionnaires validity confirmed by the experts. Through Cronbach alpha, coefficient reliability were obtained equal to 0.89. the data were analyzed in inferential level statistics through Spss 18 version software.
Findings
Findings showed the mean of information literacy components are higher than the average. The highest average was related to the item of ability to critically evaluate information which measured 4.23.
Results
The results showed that the mean of information literacy among teachers were higher than average thus, all teachers and education practitioners should pay special attention to the factors affecting the improving media and information literacy as a main capability.
