Prediction of difficulty regulating emotions with an emphasis on spiritual intelligence in offenders prison in Mashhad

Background & According to an increase in crime and the damage caused by the crime, the cause that people are more prone to crime or prevent it from happening in the field of psychology is a critical issue. the aim of this study is investigation of the relationship between spiritual intelligence and difficulty regulating emotions. Methods in this study is descriptive-correlation. Sample size is 70, that random selectived of offenders Prison in Mashhad in year 2014. The results showed that significant relationship between difficulty regulating emotions and spiritual intelligence components that are reversed (sig: 0.01), also the result of path and variance analysis showed that first factor of spiritual intelligence, understanding and communicating the origin of the universe as an intermediary between the second factor is the spiritual life, spiritual intelligence and hard inner core of emotion regulation, that can predict of difficulty regulating emotions. Also second factor of spiritual intelligence, the inner core of the spiritual life, directly and indirectly predict of difficulty regulating emotions and this is a cause relationship effect. Based on our findings, we can conclude that the spiritual and emotional regulation can be an important factor in the adoption of the factors causing stress. It can be influence for the prevention of crime. generally, spirituality is predicted to reduce the difficulty regulating emotions.
