Political Power and Human Spiritual Identity

Abstract:
Relativism, anti-essentialism and rejecting any kind of absolute essence which is the final point of reference, are as three criteria of theory of Discourse that considers human identity as a temporal and changeable fact. While, by considering religious teachings, it is possible to ignore the role of space and time in forming human identity as it is emphasized on discourse theory. Therefore, this paper supports essentialism in human identity and refers it to absolute essence, from one hand, and pays attention to the role of time and space, from other hand. For this paper, political powers play the constitutional and preserving roles of discourses. Hence, the main question is that how human spiritual identity is sustained and manifested for encountering to substantialistic or relativistic discourses. Then this research by introducing some new conceptions, tries to give its selected theory that integrates discourse theory and essentialism and finally explains human’s spiritual identity.
