The Study of the Effectiveness of Group Training Problem-Solving Skills, on Anger Control High School Students

Abstract:
Aggression is known as a serious and growing problem among adolescents In this period of time، aggression is a social problem and is considered as one of the main issues of mental health. The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of group training problem-solving skills، on anger management. This research was an experimental research with pretest – posttest design of control and experiment groups. Statistical population was all high school boys living in Shahriarcity of Tehran province. 50 students with lowest scores on anger control inventory were selected and randomly divided in two experimental and control groups. The experimental group students were taught and trained for ten sessions each session: 90 minutes in problem-solving skills while the control group did not receive any training. The data was analyzed by using the statistical method of covariance. The Results showed that anger control of experimental group was significantly increased compared to the control group. According to the results of this study general problem-solving skills can affect and increase anger management in high school students.
