Factors affecting publishing in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer situation from the perspective of publishers and booksellers

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors affecting the state of publishing in provience of Kohgilogeh and Boyer Ahmad in the years 2001-2011 from the perspective of publishers and booksellers. This study used a descriptive survey and research population consisted of 3 publishers and 36 booksellers whose 30 percent of their job activities were in book selling. Research tools included 2 separate questionnaires for publishers and booksellers. Data using Excel and SPSS software and By descriptive method analysis is. The findings showed that 127 titles (480000 volumes) in various subjects were published during 2001-2011. The major released titles belonged to the field of history and geography (33.85%) and literature (27.55%) was ranked in the second place. Publishers and booksellers has been averagely satisfied with their job. According to publishers and book sellers the impact of the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance on the publication was greater than other organizations and institutions. Among the most important factors affecting the publishing status in the provience from the perspective of publishers and booksellers were:lack of governmental supports for book publishing and distribution, removal of subsidies on paper and books, lack of well- trained and expertise publishers and booksellers and other stakeholders, the lack of book reading culture and the failure of the education system due to a single- text-system.
