The effect of personality and decision-making style of defense-industry managers on their perception of job characteristic

Considering the importance of understanding the relationship between job characteristics with decision-making style and personality، for human resource managements in defense industry، was studied at various levels managers in the case study. Using three wayes multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to examine the influence of personality and decision-making style، 42 Person of managers at different levels of job characteristics (job demands، motivator، job control، job stress). The results showed that the interaction between personality type and employment type، between personality type and work experience and between the control center and type of managers were affected on the managers perception of job characteristics. According to MANOVA، can be said each variables of personality type، work scope، organizational level and employment type، were affected on managers'' perceptions of job characteristics، but decision-making styles were not affected. Because of specific job characteristics in defense industry، the manager''s personality type and control center were affected on their perceptions of job characteristics. But since a certain unflexibility in decision-making style for managers، so this variable was not had special effect on managers'' perceptions. Also managers'' work scope and employment type، as well as affecting factors on their perceptions of job characteristics.
