Examining the Performance of Traditional and Modern Media in Promoting Nuclear Talks Media Diplomacy

Traditional and modern media played an important role in the new round of nuclear talks between Iran and P5+1 in Rouhani administration, and helped the negotiating team achieve its objectives. This study aims to examine the performance of both traditional and modern media in promoting media diplomacy in these talks. The research methodology is qualitative and the subjects were chosen from among the members of negotiating team, Foreign Ministry experts, media people, university lecturers, media experts, lawmakers and political and international experts. The theoretical framework was based on media convergence theory. Findings indicate that modern media did better in promoting media diplomacy than traditional media.
