The Disposition of University Students Toward Temporary Marriage

Abstract:
Objectives
The aim of this study is to investigate the disposition of Shahid Bahonar University students toward temporary marriage.
Method
The research method is descriptive of the ex post facto kind. The statistical population was all university students from whom 427 were recruited through stratified and simple random sampling. The measurement tool was a researchers’ made questionnaire and the data were analyzed using the t test and the analysis of variance (ANOVA).
Results
The Findings of the research show that men as compared to women, in terms of social, family, cultural, and sexual dimensions, have a meaningful and positive attitude toward temporary marriage, though in terms of marital status, age groups, and school of study, there were no meaningful difference in the mentioned dimensions.
Conclusion
The authors of the present study conclude temporary marriage has not found its proper place in the society yet. It is suggested that cultural planners present an appropriate model in concordance with laws and legal rights to acculturate it.
