The Communication teacher - student and decide to continue or quit school: Mediating role of selfdetermination motivation and academic performance

teachers and schools have cultural role in students› scientific development and educational achievement. Among them we can mention the motivation that is Intrinsic desire to learn and behavior and is supported by environment and conversely, due to negligence, is weakening; Following that performance, or interest in or to dropout occurs. So the goal of this research is studying mediating role of selfdetermination motivation and academic performance in Communication teacher - student and decide to continue or quit school. The reseasch method was correlation and 400 famle students who were studying in Shahrekord third middle schools and first high school at the academic year (1392-93) were selected by random multi-phases cluster sampleing method as sample of this study. They compeleted academic self regulation questionnaire(ASRQ), academic performance expected Measure(AP), Questionnaire on Teacher Interaction (QTI), dropout measure(DM) and self report questionnaire about decide to continue or quit school. Results shown self-determination motivation and academic performance could have mediating role in relationship between Communication teacher - student and decide to continue or quit school. Thus With improveing teacher-student relationships, while increasing motivation and improving student performance can reduce decide to student dropout.
