The effects of the Koranic stories on the student's self-esteem

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effects of the Koranic stories on the student's self-esteem. The population under study included all the Payame Noor University students, Divandare branch who were studying in the educational year of 2013-2014. The sample size was first chosen to be 70 students based on a simple random sampling, then based on the questionnaire scores, as many as 40 of these people who had received the lowest scores in the self-esteem questionnaire were selected and were randomly placed under two experimental and control groups. The experimental group was placed under the impacts of the independent variable of the Koranic stories for 9 sessions, while the control group received no such intervention. In order to gather data, the 58 question Cooper self-esteem questionnaire was used. This experimental research was of a pretest and posttests with a control group. The findings obtained indicated that the average self-esteem scores in the posttest of the experimental group were significantly higher than the average scores of the posttest in the control group. It is concluded that Koranic stories will increase student's self-esteem.
