Iran's transition to learning economy: Explanation of the role of highe education

Abstract:
The process of technical change in developing countries is basically a learning process than innovation, so developing knowledge based economy in these countries, moving toward learning economy and learning diffusion in different levels of economy could be a proper infrastructure. In the other words, learning diffusion impacted by different factors and components and is the main factor in individuals, firms, regions and national economies’ success in transition to learning economy. In this article, the factors in relation with Iran’s higher education system for transition to learning economy have been investigated and explanted by a science and technology approach. Research approach is inductive and qualitative and factors have been identifies based on grounded theory. Result showed that for improving higher education in Iran for transition to learning economy, vocational learning development, improvement of quality of educational content by focus on relation between theory and action based on real problems of society and integrating external action courses and training plans, developing on university, industry and government interactions, building and diffusing interdisciplinary research and education, enhancing of international communications, building on reforms in higher education system, making creative education programs and developing social skills of students in training systems can be considered.
