Investigating the impact of electronic content of information literacy on student's problem solving skills

The aim of the present study was to investigate the impact of electronic content of information literacy on the problem solving skills. A quasi-experimental method was used for this study. Statistical population included 200 bachelor's degree virtual training students at Shahid Madani Azerbaijan University of whom 80 students were randomly selected through simple random sampling. Hepner & Petroson (1992) Standardized Problem Solving Questionnaire was used for data collection. Multi variable variance was applied for data analysis. The research result showed that the electronic literacy information content had a good influence on the student's problem solving skills and there was significant differences, between experimental group and control group on the base of problem solving factors, including self confidence in problem solving, avoiding or welcoming problem solving activities, controlling behavior and self-emotions during problem solving and generally problem solving. Experimental group had better performance in term of problem solving components.
