Different Types of Vow and its Drives in the Iranian Society (the Case Study of Fouman)

Vow and its associated activities vary widely so that it could have provided precious spiritual, social, cultural and economic sources. Taking into account that vow and vow-originated acts have been widespread in the Iranian society ever over a religious deed, this paper recognizes the lack of influential studies in this regard and tries to provide a literature for identifying the aspects and capabilities of vow as well as utilizing the provided sources for practical planning across the society. Thus, using qualitative methods, we categorize vow to identify and interrelate the effective factors on the occurrence of vow in the sample society- i.e. Fouman, Guilan; Vow-related activities are of various types there. In this paper, we also deal with the formatives of vow and the way people are encouraged to do it.
