The Study of Relationship Between Total Quality Management and Knowledge Management From the Perspective of Academic Staff of Zabol University of Medical Sciences

Abstract:
Introduction
Nowadays¡ total quality management¡ according to a comprehensive overview of the issues¡ the challenges posed by global competition increasing pressure on organizations to improve their skills¡ abilities and the quality of products and services. Knowledge management is one of the most important factors of success in competitive conditions and the information age.
Objectives
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between total quality management and knowledge management from the perspective of faculty members Zabol University of Medical Sciences was designed.
Materials and
Methods
The study was a cross sectional study on the academic staff of the Zabol University of Medical Sciences. The instruments total quality management standard based on Baldrige model and knowledge management questionnaire that content and face validity were approved by experts in the field and their reliability by using Cronbach''s alpha coefficient was calculated.Data analysis using SPSS 18 software was used.
Results
dimensions of knowledge management and total quality management the highest average related to the use of knowledge (94.2) and process management (3.64) respectively. The correlation coefficient between total quality management with knowledge management dimension is statistically significant (P 0.05). Based on the results of multivariate regression¡ between the dimensions of knowledge management and total quality management of multiple correlation was significant relationship that between these variables (r = 0.527)¡ the greatest impact on the application of knowledge is forecast for total quality management.
Conclusion
in order to enhance the relationship between total quality management and knowledge management¡ principles of quality management and implementation of these management practices can be a very convenient way to achieve organizational goals.
