Ibn Sina on Revelation

The process of revelation is of issues that has involved many Muslim and western thinkers and philosophers’ minds, and they have concerned to understand its essence and reality. Muslim philosophers, from Farabi up to now, have tried to explain the nature of revelation, so that each one has struggled to introduce a suitable and rational explanation based their philosophical principles. Ibn Sina is one of Muslim philosophers that has paid more attention to revelation, and tried to analyze its nature and essence. He fulfilling this, uses some important elements like heavenly souls, Active Intellect, Perceptional Faculties of the Soul, Imaginary Faculty and Estimation Faculty which each of them has the role of some instruments for Ibn Sina’s explanation of revelation. In this paper, Ibn Sina’s point of view is described and discussed some critics concerning his explanation of revelation.
