Mir Damad's Version of the Theory of Human Free Will

In explaining the divine efficiency and the manner of attributing an act to human Mird Damad distinguishes free agent and the creator who creates the agent and the act, he considers that the agent is in line with the perfect creator of the act. In fact, the free will of the agent of the act provides an end to the chain of causes and therefore the act relates to him commonly, literally and terminologically; yet, the corresponding agent is not the creator of his act, as he is not the creator of himself. Power, longing (shawq), will, and all the being of human that are the causes of the emergence of the act are in the power and control of the creator and the total cause (God) in the linear system.
