Prediction of antibody against sheep red blood cells by the number of white blood cells of Japanes equail(Coturnix japonica)

Abstract:
Improving immunity system is crucial in preventing losses and higher production yield. There are several approaches to develop immunity systemand a lot of investigations have been carried out in field. In this investigation, antibody titre against sheep red cells (SRBC) was predicted using data on the number of blood cells such as heterophile, lymphocyte, basophile, monocyte and eaosinophile from 196 Japanese quail (98 female and 98 male) in Research Center of Gorgan University of Agricultural Science and Natural Resources. 0.5 ml of SRBC (5%) solution was intramuscularly injected in the 28thday of growth. And in the 35th day blood sample was collected from cervical vein to count blood cells and antibody titre against SRBC. Antibody titre was conducted by haemaglutination method in order to study the correlation between the predicted antibody titre and the measured antibody titre. Nearly 0.1 ml blood was spreaded on lam which was fixed with methanol (99.5%) in air, and then was stained by gimsa followed by rinsing. Based on the results, a significant increase was observed in ratio of heterophil to lymphocyte in females compared to males (P
