Work-Family Conflict among Nurses Working in Gilan University of Medical Sciences

Due to different reasons Nurses’ health is under great danger than the other social groups. One of the important reasons of stress and tension that is not usually addressed is the conflict between work and family life that can have an influential effect on their performance and health. Present study was an attempt to seek the work-family and family -work conflict among participant nurses. This is a cross sectional study and descriptive-Analytic. Number of 374 employed nurses in 8 Medical- Educational centers related to Gilan Medical university were selected by stratified sampling and were studied using a two-part triangulated instrument including Bio- data, and index of Carlson Work-Family conflict Questionnaire . Data have been analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical tests (Spearman, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal wallis and liner regressions) in SPSS (17) software.Results of this study showed that work-family conflict in terms of pressure and family-work conflict in terms of time are most effective on work-family and family-work conflict among nurses.
