Role of New Rural Management in Sustainable Rural Development

With regard to the importance of rural areas in economic and social life of nations, especially in producing agricultural and food products, villages have a special status in national and territorial development and development plans would encounter failure without organization and development of these regions. Spread of urbanization and increase in its problems including informal settlements, unemployment and environmental pollution has made rural settlement a favorable option. However, sustainable rural development requires institutionalized and effective rural management. The aim of this study was investigating the role of new rural management in sustainable rural development using documentary, library and analytical method. Therefore, rural management is one of the important aspects of rural development that plays an important role in coordinating rural development actions. Results of this study suggest that rural management system of Iran has encountered complicated changes and transformations over many years in terms of social structures. Unfortunately, the lack of efficient and systematic management in rural areas over these periods especially until 1961 and recent years has created numerous problems for villagers. In new rural and local management, rural managers have taken great measures in rural development using cooperation and participation of the people andstate aid. Implementing Guidance Plan, public services program and social-economic services program are three main activities of rural managers that fall within the framework of rural development and rural managers have had the greatest effect in developing rural management in terms of civil development.
