Measurement of social capital in the Neighborhoods of Mashhad City (Case study of Neighborhoods of Region 3)

Social capital is one of relevant concepts in the field of social and municipal studies that¡ in recent decades¡ is discussed as one of the most important indicators of social growth and development. Today¡ social capital components such as participation¡ knowledge¡ integrity¡ trust and social network¡ not only entail development in a society but also their existence itself is exact development. Nowadays¡ it is taken for granted that attaining development¡ civil society¡ universal criteria and a suitable place for social living is not possible without social capital. Therefore¡ in modern society¡ getting development without social capital will be unachievable because without it¡ the use of other capitals will not be optimal. This Study is applied and adopts a descriptive-analytic method. Required data is obtained through a questionnaire. Statistical population contains residents of the region 3 in Mashhad city. To Examine Social Capital in supposed Neighborhoods of the City¡ 16 Parameters of the Model were used and then the TOPSIS Weighted Shannon Entropy as a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making method. The Results of the Study Show that from among studied neighborhoods¡ respectively¡ four neighborhoods (1¡ 9¡ 8¡ 4) with Coefficient of 0.61 have the Highest level of enjoyment and the best Situation. Then six neighborhoods (2¡ 5¡ 13¡ 3¡ 7 and 10)¡ with Coefficient of 0.43¡ comprise semi- enjoyed level¡ and finally five neighborhoods (6¡ 12¡ 11¡ 15 and 14) with Coefficient of 0.24¡ constitute the Lowest level of enjoyment according to studied criteria.
