The Analysis of Blue Color Usage for "Majnun,s" Clothing in Persian Painting of Timurid and Safavid Periyods

The story of " Laili and Majnun" is the most famous of the Mystical literary works and has been regarded about Iranian painters. This story first fully ordered by "Nizami Ganjavi" and formed as part of Khamsa has repeatedly painted. In the Timurid and Safavid miniature works, "Majnun" always have been dressed in blue. In this paper, the cause of use this color is considered for review. The main goal of this research is that to prove Persian Painting works for understanding and analyzing the concepts of color, especially, awareness of the fundamental principles of color theory in Islamic and Iranian culture is essential. Theoretical Foundations of Iranian intellectuals are the only solution for understanding colors effects. The illustrations of the story of "Laili and Majnun" show the painters to choose Majnun’s cloth colors did not completely follow the text. Because the story is not clearly describe Majnun's dress color. Story that has been regarded artists, the emphasis that Majnun was nudity. Accordingly, Iranian painter has been drawn Majnun naked in the desert. But in this pictures, painters also cover the blue fabric has used. The painter is inspired from another source. Ultimately, have proved using this color based on Sufism beliefs and to introduce Majnun as the seeker through mysticism and divine love.
