Models of knowledge audit for Iranian scientific centers

Knowledge audit is the first step in knowledge management programs. Knowledge audit helps to identify knowledge management needs, areas of strength and weaknesses, opportunities and threats in organization. This paper aims to introduce models of knowledge audit. It proposes a model of knowledge audit methodology for research centers in Iran. Buit on library research, the next step was analysis and design of an appropriate model of knowledge audit for Iran. Study led to a six-stage model of the knowledge audit, namely, 1) in the one step team formation, 2) identifying structural and strategic elements, 3) identifying the status of organization knowledge are assessed by Observation, Interviews, Questionnaire , 4) then knowledge needs ,knowledge flows , and knowdedge inventory identified and the data are presented in the form of a knowledge map, 5.
